Eating Disorder Support Groups in St. Louis

Life After: A 5-Week Recovery Support Group

You've done hard work. Real work. And somewhere along the way, you started wondering — what now?

This group is for people in recovery who are ready to start building the life that comes next. Not processing symptoms. Not revisiting the hardest chapters. Just you, a small group of people who get it, and five weeks of honest conversation about who you are, what you want, and what it actually looks like to move forward.

What Makes This Group Different

Most support groups give you a place to talk about what's hard. This one gives you a place to practice what's possible in a fun, low pressure way.

Each week, we gather in person to explore the parts of life that recovery is supposed to make room for: identity, emotions, relationships, meaning, and your own definition of success. Some weeks that looks like a meaningful conversation in the group room. Some weeks it might look like a walk in the park, a game of bocce ball, or maybe even a trip out for some ice cream. We’ll decide as a group what sounds interesting as we go, and then go into the world to explore our ideas together. Every session ends with something small to carry into your week before you see each other again.

This is a closed group. That means the people you meet in week one are the people you'll finish with in week five. That consistency is intentional. Connection doesn't happen in a room full of strangers every week; it happens when you show up for each other over time.

What We'll Cover

Week 1 — Who Am I, Really?
Exploring identity beyond roles, expectations, and recovery. What makes you you?

Week 2 — Emotions Without Avoidance
Navigating life without rigid control. Naming what you feel and building your own reset routine.

Week 3 — Relationships and Boundaries
Connection, communication, and protecting your energy. Practicing the conversations that matter.

Week 4 — Building a Life That Feels Worth Living
Joy, meaning, and what you actually want more of.

Week 5 — Redefining Success
What does success mean to you — not the version you inherited?

It’s not all talk. Each week, we’ll also do some sort of activity together like games, outings, or simply bringing some silliness into the group room. Activities will be chosen with the group, because autonomy is the whole point.

A Note About This Space

This group has one gentle but firm ground rule: we keep the focus on life, not symptoms. ED thoughts and behaviors aren't the topic here. When something heavy comes up — and it will — we redirect together toward emotions, needs, relationships, and values. That's not avoidance. That's the whole point.

Deborah has spent over 30 years walking alongside people in eating disorder recovery. She knows this territory. She'll hold the space with warmth, humor, and zero judgment.

Space is limited to keep the group small and the trust real. Questions? Reach us at (636) 686-0682. Register today!
